Physical change of material - Puddles

Hi!
This is a project I made as my graduation work in Digital Arts and Entertainment.
The focus of the research lied on how to visualize physical changes of materials inside Unreal Engine in real-time.
In this case, I researched how different temperatures affect the puddles of water.
Inside the simulation, the puddles freeze, melt, dry up and form by rain.
The material itself is made with a texture to make it look realistic. However, there are a lot of elements added and modified inside Substance Designer so it would fit in the project. All real-time functionalities are made with Unreal Engine blueprints.
The tree and rock models in the background are from a free pack because I wanted to focus on the dynamic material shader itself.
As you can see, the project consists of an automated simulation that can be converted to a manual one. So, you can let the simulation play on its own or choose which phase it has to simulate by adjusting the slider.
